The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a fully funded PhD position in AI and Optimization, focusing on developing parallel portfolio solvers for NP-hard problems. This position is part of the research project “Parallel Portfolio of Parallel Solvers,” led by Prof. Jacopo Mauro, and offers a unique opportunity to work on groundbreaking strategies in algorithm design, parallel computing, and optimization.
Your Responsibilities
As a PhD candidate, you will:
Research innovative methods for combining parallel solvers in portfolio-based approaches.

Eligibility Requirements
We are hiring highly motivated candidates who meet the following criteria:
Educational Background:
An MSc in Computer Science or a related field (or completion of at least 1 year of an MSc for a 4-year PhD track).
Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
