Eligibility Requirements

We are hiring candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    • A Master’s degree (240 higher education credits) in a relevant field such as Transport Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Urban Planning, Environmental Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Required Skills:
    • Proficiency in programming for big data analysis and optimization.
    • Strong academic background in statistics, algebra, and data-driven methods.
    • Demonstrated commitment to academic research and long-term career development.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with big data analysis and AI algorithms applied to transportation.
    • Research background in shared mobility or electric transportation.
    • Expertise in developing digital tools, dashboards, or optimization frameworks.

Responsibilities

As a PhD student, your key responsibilities include:

  1. Research Activities:
    • Conducting innovative research on sustainable mobility aligned with the strategic themes of the research group.
    • Exploring topics like micromobility planning, shared mobility management, and electric mobility optimization.
  2. Academic Development:
    • Completing PhD-level courses to build expertise in your research area.
    • Presenting and publishing research findings in high-impact journals and conferences.
  3. Collaboration and Engagement:
    • Collaborating with academic peers, industry leaders, and municipal stakeholders.
    • Participating in departmental activities such as teaching or supervising undergraduate students (5–20% of your time).
