About the Position

This project will develop advanced federated learning frameworks to enable selective data removal in decentralized AI systems, addressing critical challenges in data privacy, compliance, and adaptive intelligence for the evolution of Industry 5.0. The successful candidate will engage in cutting-edge research exploring innovative federated unlearning strategies, ensuring efficiency in resource-constrained IIoT systems like edge devices and embedded technologies. This project aims to create scalable, privacy-preserving architectures that facilitate robust and intelligent decision-making across IIoT ecosystems.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in federated learning, unlearning, and AI methodologies for IIoT applications.
  • Develop frameworks for selective data contribution removal in decentralized systems.
  • Analyze IIoT challenges related to energy efficiency, data privacy, and dynamic system adaptation.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and a multidisciplinary team to achieve project milestones.
  • Publish research findings in top-tier international journals and present at renowned conferences.
  • Participate in outreach initiatives to inspire interest in federated learning and IIoT.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Educational Background: A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of Machine Learning (with experience in Federated Learning preferred).
    • Proficiency in programming, especially Python.
    • Background in wireless communications and optimization techniques is a plus.
  • Experience: Prior research experience or publications in high-ranking journals/conferences is advantageous.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in written and spoken English (C1 level or equivalent).
  • Attributes: Curiosity-driven, independent, team-oriented, and eager to learn.
