Position Overview

CEITEC MU is inviting applications for a Research Assistant (PhD Student) to contribute to the research project “Mediated Society” (Reg. No. CZ.02.01.01/00/23_025/0008713), co-funded by the European Union. This interdisciplinary project focuses on the societal impact of artificial intelligence (AI), exploring themes such as the digital divide, AI literacy, and the proliferation of deepfakes and conspiracies.

The successful candidate will contribute to Research Plan 4: Psychometric Models as a Means of Understanding Mental Processes and States. The work will involve preprocessing and basic analyses of neuroimaging data in collaboration with CEITEC’s Multimodal and Functional Imaging Laboratory (CF MAFIL).

This is a unique opportunity to join a flagship research institute in the Czech Republic, working at the intersection of neuroscience, psychology, and computer science.

Eligibility Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • MSc degree (or equivalent) in biomedical engineering or a related technical field.
  • Current PhD enrollment in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Strong ability to collaborate on scientific and research tasks within a team environment.
  • Excellent skills in formulating and presenting research results.
  • Proficiency in neuroimaging data analysis and related computational techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in presenting research at conferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preprocessing and basic analyses of neuroimaging data.
  • Contribute to the development and application of psychometric models.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate findings across psychology, computer science, and neuroscience.
  • Clearly communicate research outcomes through written reports and presentations.
  • Support the preparation of scientific publications.
