This interdisciplinary project will explore the role of item wording, response options, and the evolution of psychometric properties over time. Additionally, the research will investigate the integration of AI-driven approaches to enhance scale development and questionnaire design.
This PhD position will culminate in a dual doctoral degree in Psychological Sciences and Applied Economic Sciences. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with leading research groups from Ghent University and IÉSEG School of Management, Lille.

Your Responsibilities
As a PhD researcher, you will:
Develop and conduct at least three sub-studies as part of this interdisciplinary project.
Analyze and map the psychometric properties of questionnaire scales.
Explore AI-based innovations in questionnaire development and assess their impact.
Write, present, and publish scientific articles in English, leading to a doctoral dissertation.
Collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary research groups.
Contribute to academic tasks such as workshops, teaching support, and team meetings.
Candidate Profile
We are hiring a motivated and independent researcher who meets the following requirements:
Academic Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in Psychology, Economics or Applied Economics, Business Administration, Business Engineering, Communication Sciences, Sociology, Data Science, or related fields.
Final-year Master’s students (graduating by July 2025) are also eligible to apply.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong academic background with a focus on research methodology and statistics.
Proficiency in data analysis and an eagerness to explore psychometric theories.
Analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of independent research.
Soft Skills: Adaptability, critical thinking, proactive approach, and creative problem-solving.
