PhD Position Information

These positions are part of a multidisciplinary effort to develop cutting-edge innovations at the intersection of polymer science, biophysics, and soft matter systems.

About the Position

  • Job Title: PhD Candidate (No: 189-24)
  • Research Focus:
    • Development and exploration of protocells using coarse-grained simulation models.
    • Modeling and analyzing biomolecular condensates in cell-like environments to deepen our understanding of cellular processes.
    • Presenting research findings through scientific publications, conferences, and outreach activities.
  • Contract Details:
    • Starting Date: March 1, 2025.
    • Duration: 3 years.
    • Work Hours: 30 hours per week (part-time).
    • Salary: Based on the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states (EG 13 TV-L), depending on qualifications.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Educational Background:
    • A completed Master’s degree (or equivalent) in physics, biophysics, or a related field such as chemistry.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Prior experience in the theory/simulation of soft matter or biophysical systems is advantageous.
    • A strong interest in interdisciplinary research.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Effective communication skills for presenting research findings to academic audiences and the general public.
